If you’re planning a trip to Mallorca without a car, I recommend staying in Palma de Mallorca or Playa del Palma, depending on the season of your visit.
Alternatively, you should consider Sóller or Port de Sóller, Pollença or Port de Pollença, and Alcúdia or Port d’Alcúdia, depending on how you want to spend your vacation.

When I came to Mallorca for the first time without having booked a rental car, I stayed in Palma. The capitol of the largest of the Balearic Islands is an excellent choice for an initial visit or if you do only spend a few days on the island.

Palma de Mallorca is conveniently location near the airport, which is incredibly practical for travelers without a car. Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI) is only about 8km / 5mi from the city center.
This proximity means that you can easily and stress-free make your way to the city upon arrival. There are various transport options from the airport to the city, including buses, taxis, and shuttle services, ensuring a quick and efficient connection.

Palma serves as the central hub for public transportation on Mallorca. Buses to nearly all destinations and most popular tourist spots on the island start from here, making it easy to explore the islands attractions without a car.

2. Playa del Palma
Playa del Palma is in the south of island, just a few kilometers away from Palma. The long beach is the best area to stay on Mallorca without a car, for a 2 totally different kind of travelers, depending on the season.
It is heaven for party people in the summer and my favorite place to stay when I visit in the winter.
Beachfront Lifestyle and Activities
Playa de Palma is one of the longest and most beautiful beaches on the island.
During the summer, you can find a wide variety of shops, cafés, and restaurants along the beachfront promenade that offer something for every taste and budget.
The area is also famous for its vibrant nightlife, with plenty of bars and clubs providing entertainment late into the night.
When I stay here in winter, I just love to do long walks along the empty shore or simply bask in the Mediterranean sun.
