Where to stay in Mallorca without a car

1. Palma de Mallorca

When I came to Mallorca for the first time without having booked a rental car, I stayed in Palma. The capitol of the largest of the Balearic Islands is an excellent choice for an initial visit or if you do only spend a few days on the island.

Proximity to the Airport

Palma de Mallorca is conveniently location near the airport, which is incredibly practical for travelers without a car. Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI) is only about 8km / 5mi from the city center.

This proximity means that you can easily and stress-free make your way to the city upon arrival. There are various transport options from the airport to the city, including buses, taxis, and shuttle services, ensuring a quick and efficient connection.

Whether you want to discover the dramatic mountains on the west coast, the tranquil inland villages, or the lively beaches in the east and south of the island, Palma is the perfect departure point.

Arts & Culture

Palma itself is a multicultural city with a rich history reflected in its architecture, museums and cultural sights. Main attraction is the impressive La Seu Cathedral, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture that dominates the cityscape.

Beyond the cathedral, there are numerous museums, galleries, and other historical sites to explore that tell the story of Mallorca’s long and varied history.
