Collage with several Polaroid photos of Usedom against a background of sea and rocks. You can see the Ahlbeck pier in the evening, an elegant white hotel in the style of seaside resort architecture, a groyne in the sand jutting into the sea and other impressions of the island. "USEDOM" is written above it in large, light blue letters.

Usedom and me

I first visited the island of Usedom in 2014 for a friend’s wedding. She said “I do” on the Ahlbeck Pier: a beautifully romantic setting, with plenty of wind in our hair.

In winter 2025, I finally made it back to experience the calm and peaceful side of this popular Baltic Sea island.

For five days, I explored Usedom on an E-bike, riding all over the island and trying to experience everything that makes Usedom worth visiting in winter.
